Easter in Wenatchee

Oh, what a wonderful weekend celebration of Jesus' resurrection!  We traveled over the mountains on Friday night for a weekend at the Fode's new home.  We arrived pretty late so the boys were quickly put to bed.  Nicole and Brian were there and so once the kids were off to bed...it was time to play poker!  The next morning, Wings, Nicole, Caleb, Eli and I  met Shelley, Tom and the kids at Saddlerock Presbyterian Church (the Fode's church) for an Easter Egg Hunt and cookie decorating  Russ, Brian and Kevin were at the Country Club playing golf.

After that we headed home to eat some lunch and then Wings sent the ladies and Tom off to my favorite store" Out on a Whim".  It's a great recycled home goods store in downtown Wenatchee.  I love it because they have a ton of cute stuff for great prices!  We had to return by 3:30 because we had another Easter Egg Hunt at Russ and Sheila's neighbors house.  The adults were encouraged to participate in this one.  The kids even found numbered eggs that they turned ion for prizes at the end of the hunt.  Caleb won the grand prize...a Mister Potato Head hot potato game!  It was a HIT!

The next morning we tried out a brand new church called Grace City Church.  Oh boy!  That place is on fire for Jesus!  The service and testimonies were amazing and there were so many baptisms that we had to leave before they were all done.

Next we headed back for a delicious lunch and then it was time to start saying goodbye to Tom, Shell and the kids.  We figured we had time for one more round of Texas Hold Em before we had to head out.  And I am so glad we stayed since Kevin and I won 1st and 2nd place!  We had an amazing time and are so very thankful for our family!
But most of all we are so very thankful for Jesus' sacrifice for us!
Thank you Lord for sending your Son for us!

Annual Seattle Christmas Celebration

Caleb and Eli rode the train from Olympia to Seattle to kick off our annual Seattle Christmas trip on Thursday.  We stayed at The Roosevelt.  The hotel was very conveniently located...close to Nordstrom for the Santa pics, close to Gameworks and close to the TapHouse (a favorite place to eat meals).  The boys stayed the night with Nana, Papa, Wings, Russ and Eric the first night.  Aaron and Stefanie joined them on Friday early afternoon and then Kevin and I arrived on Friday for dinner.  After dinner, the boys were OUT!

The next morning, Kevin set out to stand in line for pictures with Santa at Nordstrom at 8:30.  It was a several hour wait but we were inside the entire time.  What a blessing since the temperatures were in the 20's.  BRRRRR!!!  In the end the pictures turned out great...and we were surrounded with folks we love!  Wings, Russ, Papa, Nana, Stefanie, Aaron and the boys spent some of the wait happily sipping Starbucks!

Sitting on Santa's lap.  Caleb wants a 3DS, some games for it and a 'surprise".  Eli would like a Monster Truck and a skunk!!!  Not sure where the skunk idea came from...I almost hope Santa won't be able to deliver on that one!  What a funny boy!
On Sunday morning, we bundled up for the Jingle Bell Run.  The boys started out with small adult t-shirts but Wings remedied that problem after the race... and each came home with a shirt more their size!   The boys ran the kids portion of the race "Running With the Elves".
They both ran most of the 1K race!
Bundled up and ready to run!
Uncle Wusty and Eli waiting for the race to begin.

Caleb decided that he should run with mommy because he was sure that daddy wouldn't be able to keep up!  Hahaha!  I loved it!  Caleb has been running every day during his 15 minute recess at school.  He is turning into quite a runner!

Colds

With the start of the school year, the boys quickly came down with colds.  Caleb started with a cough on the 3rd day of school.  I was hoping it was allergies but then Eli started coughing.  :(  To help their throats I made them "tea" with honey and lemon.  Eli LOVED it!  "This is the best tea I never had!"  he says!
